Pamela has practiced traditional talk therapy for over 30 years and has over 20 years of experience specializing in body psychotherapy. When she started doing counseling she observed that the traditional approach of talking about feelings did not really reach the complete emotional experience. Through her own personal experience with Radix Body Education, a Neo-Reichian body-oriented approach, she found what she was looking for. She was certified in Radix in 1988. She has developed an experiential body-centered approach in working with couples and relationship issues.
She believes that in order to continue to offer a high level of expertise and intuitive presence as a counselor, therapist and facilitator, ongoing training and personal work is essential. In pursuit of that goal she has received training in EMDR therapy, Imago therapy, Intimacy Training by Doug and Naomi Moseley, and Visionary Craniosacral by Hugh Milne. She has continued to do her own personal growth work. Continuing her own journey, she has also worked with several indigenous shamans in Peru.
She received a Special Service Award from the National Counsel on Sexual Addiction and Compulsivity for her work with people in recovery from addictions. She was profiled in the September 2001 issue of the New Age Journal. She has written numerous professional articles, was the editor of a professional journal and is a speaker. She graduated from the University of Connecticut cum laude with a BA in psychology. Her Master's in Social Work (MSW) is from Barry University. She is licensed in Florida as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
